Overview

Chip Day is designed with your privacy in mind. We believe your sobriety journey is deeply personal, and your data should stay that way.

We do not collect any personal data. Chip Day does not have servers, accounts, or analytics. We never see your data.

All data you enter into Chip Day is stored:

Locally on your device – Your sobriety dates, names, notes, and photos are stored only on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch.
In your private iCloud account – If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs across your devices using Apple's iCloud infrastructure. This sync is end-to-end encrypted by Apple. We have no access to your iCloud data.

Chip Day may request the following permissions:

Notifications – To remind you of upcoming chip days and anniversaries.
Contacts – Optional. Only used if you choose to link a counter to an existing contact or send a congratulations message. We never upload or access your contacts otherwise.
Calendar – Optional. Only used if you choose to add chip day anniversaries to your calendar.

All permissions are optional and requested only when you use features that need them.

Chip Day does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to anyone. Period.

Chip Day is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version here with an updated date.
